Bug List 2A

Bug List (be specific and ask why this bug exists not why it bugs you)

I. In the morning when the rider app tells me that the next bus is 10 minutes away when really it was 2 minutes away and I miss it so then I have to wait for the next one and I end up having to rush to class or I end up being late.
a.     This probably happens due to a glitch in the app or the app not being caught up with the buses.
2.   When I’m out of data on my phone and the UF WIFI resets on my phone and I can’t get online when I’m on campus.
a.     This probably happens because the WIFI clocks out, but I’m not sure why that is?
3.   When I’m in a hurry or someone is waiting for me and my eyeliner does not come out even on both sides.
a.     This probably happens because my face isn’t symmetrical, or I already know I’m rushing so I’m not relaxed.
4.   When someone in person asks me the same question more than once after it has been answered.
a.     This happens because the person probably wasn’t listening or paying attention to the answer I gave.
5.   When I forget to defrost frozen meat for lunch or dinner before I leave for school and I come home starving and have to either buy food or wait longer to cook.
a.     This happens because I am forgetful and don’t remind myself the day before, also because my priority in the morning is to not be late to school.
6.     When the WIFI in my apartment complex constantly goes out and I can’t finish watching a video or doing my homework so then I have to wait or leave and go somewhere else.
a.     The apartment complex hasn’t gotten around to fixing the connection.
7.    When I accidentally hit my leg on anything because I bruise easily, and it usually hurts no matter what.
a.     Happens because I’m either not paying attention, too close to something, or in a rush.
8.    When I’m grocery shopping and I come home after going to 3 different stores and realized I forgot something even after making a list.
a.     This happens because sometimes I make my list halfway if I’m not entirely sure of what I’m going to cook for the week or if I decide on something while I’m in the store, so I don’t write it down because I’m already in the store
9.    When people I am not close to inviting themselves to my plans that I was doing by myself without asking.
a.     This probably happens because they think that I’m telling them what I’m doing so that is an open invite.
10.  When my roommates do not clean the kitchen after they cook, and they leave food all over the stove and food in the sink.
a.     They probably do so because they were going to clean it later, they had somewhere to be or they just didn’t feel the need to because they think someone else will clean it.
11.  When people are rude to their servers for making mistakes or because something wasn’t to their liking.
a.     This happens because people think that it’s the server’s responsibility since it’s their job or that it’s a form of unprofessionalism
12.  When I say something, and the other person begins to express their own interpretation of what I said without allowing me to finish speaking.
a.     This probably happens because the person took what I said as face value or isn’t listening to understand but listening to respond.
13.  When people come up to me in public places, stating my name and saying they know me, without introducing themselves when they do not know me personally, they just follow me on social media.
a.     This happens because social media has given people the idea that if you follow them and know their name you actually know them, social media is surface level.
14.  When I put my phone to charge and then realize my phone actually wasn’t charging or the charger fell from the wall or from the phone.
a.     This probably happens because I initially didn’t plug the charger incorrectly or I was half asleep when I did so.
15.  When I enter into a space with friends and friends of the friends who invited me that I haven’t met yet don’t say hello or introduce themselves or make me feel unwelcome. I also hate when this happens to another individual.
a.     This happens because people don’t have manners, are rude or they’re introverts and do not feel comfortable introducing themselves.
16.  When I put my leftovers in the fridge and come home expecting to eat them but someone else ate them and didn’t say anything or ask.
a.     This happens because sometimes people feel entitlement when a fridge is shared, or they didn’t know who’s it was.
17.  When I microwave my food for a long time, but the food ends up not being fully warmed, so I have to keep testing times until the food is warmed thoroughly.
a.      This happens because the food itself is dense or layered or because the container it’s in doesn’t allow the heat to transfer to the food as quickly as it transfers to the container.
18.  When individuals openly make fun of others which ends up in the group collectively speaking about the individual, especially if they aren’t around to defend themselves
a.     This happens because people find comedy in putting down others or feel uncomfortable standing up for someone, so they rather join in to not feel out of place.
19.  When I find something cute to wear at the store and I try it on and it doesn’t fit me like I thought or wished it did, especially if it’s a good deal
a.     This happens because I had an expectation, or the fabric and shape of the clothing were only flattering on the hanger.
20.  When I can’t process my thoughts the way I want to verbally and instead I don’t say anything because I am too intimidated by my lack of organization.
a.     This happens because I have too many things I want to say, and I want to say them exactly how I feel them and do not want them to get misconstrued or misunderstood.

Reflection: I thought this was going to be easier, but It did take me a while to come up with all of these. It’s much easier to explain why something bugs you rather than why something that bugs you happens. I also feel like I don’t try to think much about what bothers me because I try to not let those things get to me. A lot of the things that bother me in terms of products and services are minuscule and not worth being bothered over in my opinion. As I kept thinking about ‘bugs’, I started getting a bit deep into it in terms of scenarios with others so, I guess things like that ‘bug’ me more.

  1. Hi Jennifer,
I really enjoy the bug list you made because I can relate to many of them and even put some of the same things in my list. A few of the bugs that I could relate to were roommates who leave dirty dishes out and also my apartment wifi is not very good either. I also found this assignment harder than I thought because I try not to let little things bother me.

  2. Hi Jennifer, I found that your bug list was very relatable and was well written. You were very informative and did a good job of explaining the bug and why it exits. Number 14 is something that definitely bugs me but I didn't think about adding it to my list, but looking back on it I definitely would. Like you, I also had trouble coming up for reasons why these bugs happen.

  3. Hi Jennifer, I thought your list was very compelling and similar to mine actually. Especially in number 9, that is one of the most annoying things people can do. I also struggled coming up with my list and reasons why. Great work overall.

  4. Hello Jennifer!
I can definitely relate to a lot of the things that bug you! One of those things is the rider app that sometimes gives inaccurate information and it sucks. Microwaving food and not being sure if it is ready is also a hassle that I go through. Good job!
